i am so devastated ashamed
i am a 47 yo male, the last time I had unprotected sex was with a female i dated for one year
i have been known to get belintis on my penis and i put cream it goes away, it is kind of like fungal because i dont dry after shower enough
anywyas, last week i went to eurologist cause i noticed 4 like spots/lumps redness and he told me genital herpes to go to er and have culture done. I went to ER and after two weeks they tell doctor the two cultures they took for herpes did not have enough specimen to conduct the test. I was devastated.
when i went to eurologist initially and told me herpes (lesions) on genital he gave me acyclover and the spots lesions disappeared in 4 days completely.
. I was never in pain, no itching or anything. I thought it was belinitus again.
can someone contract herpes after 8 years? Now I cannot do another culture until i have an outbreak again.
blood test is not conclusive won't give you the right result he told me.

Understand completely how you feel.... you could try taking Acyclovir which will reduce the chance of infecting another. However when it comes down to it, you will have to be truthful with any future partners so they know the risk.

Well you might have caught herpes from the women you were with for a year. I just found out i had herpes yesterday and i caught it from my boyfriend. He caught herpes from haveing sex with a random female who gave me and him gonrrhea and herpes. But you can still have sex just not when you have an outbreak...and yes that includes if you have a condum on. Appareantly this female my boyfriend had sex with did not know that. And its not your falut if you contracted the STD because the person you got it from should have been more carefull. And there is a possiblity that what you had the first time was not herpes if it disappeared with cream, cuz wen i had my 1st outbreak i but some triple anti-bactiera cream on both sides of my vagina and they started to disappear. The side where i had the least amount of bumps where gone in three days. But my boyfriend doesnt have any signs of herpes or gonurrhea.... but my doctor was wrong about one thing she said i had an yeast infection and now she's saying i have gonurrhea but i will get another opinion. And takeing a blood test to see what you have is better than geting it swobed because they could have said i had herpes just because they dont know what i have. But i will be praying fr you cuz i know how you feel and im 18 and my boyfriend is 40 so i understand.

I am 20 years old.. My fiance is 26 and he had a cold sore and now I have genital herpes. Well it pretty much explains its self how I got it. But I am worried about passing it on to him. Its like I am scared to have sex again. I am allergic to latex so we have to use non latex condoms. But we want to try for a baby but I keep avoiding the subject because I am completely terrified of having sex without a condom again. Its like I cant get past the fact that I could give it to him. I tense up and then we end up just going to sleep because it hurts because I cant relax. Is there anything that someone could tell me to help me relax and get over this fear?
Some Thoughts for Help
I found that the more I knew about genital herpes, as in, what can help reduce outbreaks, what measures can be taken to reduce the chances of spreading it and the early warning signs of an episode the more relaxed I became. Informing yourself about the facts can really help and this site is a good place to do that as are other herpes forums on the net. Lysine can help as in a lysine rich diet, as can making sure you don't get rundown, plus do get enough sleep each and every day and don't forget to avoid those people, if you can, who have a "bug", that can undermine your immune system.
Some people do okay on the various prescription medications at a maintenance level, I always had too many side effects to keep taking them over time, besides the cost never stops either, month after month. So five or six months ago I tried the mineral formula that Resolve Herpes has come up with. You take it for 50 days while increasing the dosage by increments over time. I did have some side effects--sporadic tummy upset, and a periodic runny nose but I knew this detox wasn't going to go on forever so I kept at it. Now, after finishing the detox, for the first time since I was infected I've been clear for two months. Unbelievable. I can't tell you what a difference Resolve has made. It may not be a "cure" for everybody but it certainly has been for me so far.
